Des Moines, IA – October 16, 2020 – Wealth Advisor Jason Juhl, RICP®, has announced his decision to affiliate with Carson Wealth to provide his clients with the support and services of a full roster of highly specialized professionals, ranging from estate planning to CPAs and tax professionals, investment management, complex financial planning, compliance and more. Juhl’s clients will also benefit from access to cutting-edge Carson CX (client experience) technology that is accessible wherever they live and work, to better connect them with their financial plans and goal path.

Juhl will join the existing Carson Wealth office in Des Moines, headed by his mentor, Managing Partner and Wealth Advisor Joel Worsfold, CFP® ChFC® CLU® RICP® REBC®. He currently manages nearly $60 million in assets and, combined with Worsfold’s headquarters in the Jordan Creek area of West Des Moines, a team of six will now manage approximately $500 million dollars in AUA for a total of 225 households across Iowa and the United States. The combined practice focuses on a limited number of affluent households in order to ensure a high degree of service and attention to detail. Juhl said, “We bring the feel of Ritz-Carlton with FedEx efficiency.”

As with other advisors who have affiliated with Carson Wealth, Juhl and Worsfold will maintain active majority ownership of the Des Moines practice as well as remain the strategic decision-makers for all business decisions.

Juhl added, “My decision to take this step in my career and partner with Carson Wealth has been deeply personal. After graduating college and starting my career, I learned that my parents were misled by a financial advisor—a situation that negatively impacted their lives for years to come. Their advisor didn’t communicate potential pros and cons or ask about their goals, dreams and aspirations.”

He added, “Joel, the Carson Wealth team in Des Moines and the wider Carson Group network of advisors are all dedicated to cutting through the bureaucracy and delivering strategies that are in the best interest of each and every client. The culture fit was unmistakable from the beginning, and I know the people I serve will benefit from the support staff in place, advanced investment strategies and a more pleasant experience with technology—giving them more transparency into their finances and their progress toward the deep-seated goals they have for their families.”

Juhl received his Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation in 2018 and specializes in working with individuals who are in or nearing retirement, as well as millennial investors. Worsfold was named one of the United States’ Top 1,200 State-by-State advisors for 2018 by Barron’s.

“Jason is so dedicated and driven by the families he serves and is a natural addition to Joel’s established team in Des Moines,” said Alex Rodawig, Managing Director and Head of Carson Wealth. “I can’t wait to see how he continues to turn the tide toward transparency and trust in the financial services profession.”

Carson currently manages more than $13 billion in assets and serves more than 34,000 families through its advisory network consisting of 304 advisors across 36 states, including 25 Carson Wealth offices.

The Mutual Fund Fees We Don’t Talk About

Mutual fund fees are often discussed, but not fully appreciated by many investors. The ultimate cost of owning a fund is far greater than what meets the eye. This is primarily due to two reasons. First, only about a third of the total cost is reported by the expense ratio. Other hidden fees …
